The work – CONFLUENCES was made in 1977 by Manuela Siclodi at the metal sculpture camp in Galaţi. She was born in 1946 and studied sculpture at Nicolae Grigorescu Institute of Fine Arts. The composition is an absolutely perfect whole, consisting of four harmoniously arranged pieces. The sculpture is remarkable in terms of its vertical pieces, which abstractly depict the communion between man and woman, while the horizontal pieces on the base symbolize the soul of the two, the soul which is the mirror of each man’s personality. Its placement on the bank of the river is not random, it symbolizes the communion between the human being and nature.
